in Biochar for Remediation: Research and Case Studies
Pilot program showcased biochar as a scalable solution for large-scale stormwater and infrastructure challenges.
A pioneering field study conducted in Middletown, Delaware, evaluated biochar-amended soils along highway greenways
Results:
The results were transformative: biochar reduced stormwater runoff volumes by 53% and peak flows by 77%. It also improved soil aggregation and water infiltration rates, demonstrating its potential to address runoff and pollution from impervious surfaces.
