When Kathleen Draper first encountered biochar, it wasn’t at a conference or a lab. It was in the pages of a book, Chris Goodall’s Ten Technologies to Save the Planet. Out of the ten, biochar was the only one that made sense to her. “The rest were so technical,” she recalls. “But I grew up on a farm. I could relate to this.”
